7 Yoni Care Tips To Stay Healthy and Fresh
Learn The Womanly Art of Cultivating Yoni Health and Radiant Beauty From the Inside Out!
Holistic Yoni care is a lifestyle characterized by physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual practices that honor the sacred feminine essence that radiates from deep within every woman. In this post, you’ll discover 7 tips to enhance your practice in such a way that your beauty and wellness are cultivated from the inside out!
TIP #1: EAT WELL
Eating well is the most fundamental wellness practice of all because your diet affects every cell in your body. Although eating well may look different for every person and there is NO cookie-cutter diet that is suitable for all—eating a wide variety of fresh fruits will do any body good!
Grapes, dark berries, citrus, and melons are powerful cleansers that will help to keep your Yoni fresh and your skin glowing! Why? Because these fruits scrub the body from the inside out—assisting the lymphatic system in the removal of toxins. Furthermore, berries are electrical foods that support the endocrine system, which is responsible for hormone regulation throughout the body.
In particular, the pituitary gland (a master gland in the brain) is responsible for reproductive and sex hormones, many of which are made by the adrenal glands (situated just above the kidneys). When the lymphatic system is not well-supported by one’s diet, it may stagnate and not filter well through the kidneys. This may lead to conditions such as acne, boils, and night sweats as lymph attempts to push its way out through the skin. Otherwise, inflammation builds up in the area surrounding the body’s organs and cells.
High fruit consumption may help to strengthen the kidneys in their filtering function and release inflammation from the body on a regular basis so that it doesn’t build up in the tissues and cause Yoni health issues. Of course, the kidneys respond to the pituitary gland, which is nourished by highly electrical foods (i.e. berries).
Besides fruits, a wide variety of alkaline vegetables can provide essential minerals and soluble fiber to support healthy digestion. As stated in the common adage, all illness begins in the colon. So, no matter what your chosen diet looks like—your Yoni will more than appreciate the addition of more fruits and alkaline veggies!
TIP #2: DRINK WATER
We’ve all heard the timeless suggestion that drinking 8 glasses of water per day promotes great hydration and health. Specifically, however, staying properly hydrated is also a major part of the Yoni’s ability to stay healthy and balanced.
Most of us are dehydrated and we don’t even know it. Drinking adequate water daily helps to lubricate the body, especially the mucous membrane. Also, water is a purifier that assists in the body’s natural detoxification process.
The body removes toxins from your cells on a constant basis through the lymphatic system, which is released largely through the kidneys and skin. Being properly hydrated helps the lymph to move through the body with greater ease, pick up toxins, and excrete them.
Understanding this detoxification process is the key to addressing inflammatory conditions of the Yoni such as menstrual issues, hormone imbalance, fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS, yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, and more. All in all, drinking water is both a treatment and prevention step—essential for optimal Yoni health.
TIP #3: CLEANSE RESPONSIBLY
It should come as no surprise that feminine hygiene is predicted to surpass a 27 billion-dollar industry over the next few years. Although the introduction of new feminine hygiene practices and products may seem exciting, it is essential that we remember to cleanse responsibly—something that isn’t talked about enough.
The vagina is a self-cleaning organ with its own microbiome. Interference in the form of over-cleansing can offset its microbiome, pH, moisture level, hormone balance, and more. Using feminine washes incorrectly or using poorly formulated products (i.e. Cleansing wipes, douches, and yoni soaps) are the easiest ways to cause an imbalance.
Instead of attempting to ‘detox’ the vagina, focus on gently cleansing the vulva (outer skin of the Yoni) with a quality intimate wash. Read more about this in my post on using Yoni wash.
In addition to your daily physical hygiene practice, sanitize any objects that come into contact with the vulva and/or vagina (Yoni eggs, menstrual cups, and adult toys). You can learn more about cleaning your Yoni egg in my Yoni egg tutorial post. Even if you don’t share your sex toy collection with anyone else, it is still important to sterilize each device before and after use.
To stay fresh while you are menstruating, you may find a peri-bottle quite useful. You can simply fill it with lukewarm water and then squeeze it to rinse your vulva. Also, look for a travel-size peri-bottle to carry on the go—it’s easy and much gentler than cleansing wipes.
TIP #4: PRACTICE AFTERCARE
Now, let’s talk about sex—in particular, aftercare! Aftercare is a term used to describe all the ways that you nourish yourself and address your needs (and your partners’) immediately after sex. One essential aftercare step is to urinate immediately after sex to reduce your chances of developing a urinary tract infection (UTI).
Post-coitus UTIs are no fun and can simply be the result of bacteria being accidentally introduced to the urethral opening during sexual intercourse. So, remember to urinate after sex (drink a glass of water before you get started 😉). Also, a quick splash of lukewarm water using a peri-bottle can be a nice refresher for the vulva as a quick alternative to your intimate wash.
TIP #5: ADDRESS FATIGUE
Contrary to being underestimated by much of the western medical community—adrenal fatigue is a real condition that negatively impacts the lives millions of people! We are overworked, under-rested, unappreciated, and cpnstantly incentivized to over-invest ourselves in other people’s problems while ignoring our own needs. We are living in a constant state of fight-or-flight, driven by abnormal, daily spikes of adrenaline in response to our environment—this is NOT healthy, nor is it sustainable.
When the adrenals are burned out and not funtioning optimally, you can bet that your hormones will be thrown completely out of whack! This is also a huge factor in sexual dysfunction including an unusually low libido.
The adrenal glands regulate the body’s fight-or-flight response (sympathethic nevous system) in addition to its mineral and energy balance. They also make sex hormones and factor in attraction, sexual response, and overall Yoni health. Trauma, poorly managed stress, a poor diet, malapsorption of nutrients, lack of adequate sleep, and other stressors can chronically overstimulate the adrenal glands and lead to a longstanding state of fatigue known as burnout.
Western women, in particular, face the issue of burnout at very high rates—regardless of socioeconoic staus due to the demand of their lifestyle and external pressure brough on by the cultural expectiations of society. According to the American Instite of Stress, 49% of women reported a significant increase in stress over the last 5 years. Shockingly, married women showed much higher stress levels than single women—we’re usually told that the opposite is true!
What’s going on in our world? Why are we more stressed when our lifetstyle choices and environent should create greater ease due to the conveniences that living in western world affords us?
The answer differs from culture to culture, family to family, and from woman to woman—especially for American women of color who experience poorer health outcomes across the spectrum of health issues. However, regardless of the source of stress—the biological pathways of the body don’t discriminate. There are things we can do to process stress and trauma in a healthier way, while building biological resilience through cellular detox and rapir.
If you are experiencing symptoms of fatigue and exhausion, talk to you doctor. The following are suggestions to help you get started on your path to holistic wellness, balance, and tranquility from the inside out:
- Eliminate caffiene and stimulants from your diet (coffee, black/green tea, energy drinks, protein shakes, pre-workout supplements, diet pills, and the high consumption of protein altogether as it is a stimulant).
- Get more sleep, drink more water, and eat more fruit.
- Eliminate unnecessary sources of stress in your life by setting healthy boundaries.
- Get organized, manage your time well, and declutter your physical environment (home, office, car, purse, etc.).
- Build a support system (family, friends, neighbors, minister, therapist, accountability partner, healthcare team, etc.)
- Strengthening your endocrine system (all of the above, herbs, high fruit consumption)
- Find ways to heal trauma through phsycial practices (yoga, dance, massage therapy, somatic experiencing, tantra).
- Develop psychospiritual support to release emotional wounds, grief, and resentment.
- Spend time alone (go outside for a walk, journal, sing, breathe, have fun with YOU).
- Experience pleasure through the 5 sense to rewire the brain for bliss.
Finally (and most importantly), aligh your life as closely as possible with your top 3-5 core values. No matter how ‘perfect’ your health habits are—when you are living out of congruency with your own truth, you will experince a chronic buildup of low-grade stress that seeps into every aspect of your lifestyle. This (in my opinion based on personal life experience) is the #1 cause of chronic adrenal fatigue. Unhappiness is underrated but a powerful force that can make you or break you.
Find your truth and live it, no matter what. Then, the rest of the suggestions listed above will have fertile ground to take root in your life and support your total wellness.
TIP #6: EMBODY SELF-AWARENESS
As well stated by PositivePsychology.com, self-awareness is “the ability to see yourself clearly and objectively through reflection and introspection.” Although such practices are helpful, embodiment is often the missing link between one’s vision of a fulfilling life and their actualy experience of it.
Embodiment is manifested through feeling, sensing, and behaving mindfully. One of the fastest and most effective ways to cultivate self-awareness as a woman is to develop a more intimate relationship with your Yoni. Take time to learning about her anatomy, physiology, and wisdom in the form of mythology. Be in stillness, whether through dance or silent meditation. Take time to listen to her (your inner voice of desire) and trusting her wisdom through your intuition.
Also, connect with other wombs through sisterhood. When you gather with other women to share your vision, hopes, dreams, fears, failures, vulnerabilities, wins, and desires—the collective energy of the group opens a cosmic portal connecting you all back to the source of timelss and sacred femininie wisdom that predates all life.
Empower your Yoni with respect in terms of your words, thoughts, interactions, and deeds. Nourish her with divine foods, herbs, hygiene practices, adornment, and spiritual care. If you need help starting your daily Yoni care practice, take our FREE Quiz and discover your Sacred Feminine Archetype.

Finally, consider how maintaining healthy boundaries might affect your Yoni health. How do your boundaried show up in your holistic Yoni care practice? How do they show up when in romantic and sexual partnerships? Assess the strength and tone of your pelvic floor through your Yoni egg practice.
For instance, could there be a correlation between weaker pelvic floor muscles (the Yoni egg keeps falling out involuntarily) and loose boundaries in your interaction with other people (at home, work, etc.)? What about very tight pelvic floor muscles (the Yoni egg seems difficult to remove)? Might this be correlated with insecurity and high stress—the need to relax your boundaries a bit and trust? Perhaps. This is how we cultivate self-awareness through a physical practice—we don’t just think and strategize, we set our wisdom in motion through action for personal and spiritual growth.

TIP #7: EDUCATE YOURSELF
One of the greatest benefits of living in the information age is the easy access to just about anything you want to know. The biggest setback, however, is the lack of quality in much of that information. Be an educated woman when it comes to your Yoni and your body. Study methods of Yoni care and learn about psychospiritual self-cultivation practices based on ancient schools of wisdom. Get know know, in general, how each of your body systems work and complement one another.
Far too many women trust ‘experts’ without a solid based of personal knowledge to compare ‘expert opinions’ against. Remember, it’s not your doctor’s job to be the expert on your body, it is actually yours!
There are plenty of books, blogs, classes, and retreats centered around holistic health, spirituality, and Yoni care. Here are some topic to get started with:
- Nutrition, Herbalism (especially women’s herbs) & Detoxification
- Yoni steaming (I’ve written a detailed post on this subject here)
- Yoni yoga
- Yoni eggs
- Sensuality, Sexuality & Pleasure
- Tantra
- Intimate Relationships
- Women’s Mysteries/Blood Mysteries
- Goddess Tradition/Sacred Feminine/Divine Feminine Archetypes (take our FREE quiz to get started)
- Priestesshood & Ancient Temple Arts
Remember to study the basics as well (anatomy, physiology, the endocrine and lymphatic systems, and adult sex ed)—it’s not your doctor’s job to be the expert on your body, that is on you.
